Call for scripts: radio-drama adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein

This Hallowe’en, The Post-Meridian Radio Players will present Monster in the Mirror — a two-part show, featuring new adaptations of Jekyll & Hyde and Frankenstein! These are stories we have wanted to tell for a long time, and we are so, so excited!

But We Need Your Help Building the Monster...

Now, if you yourself are also feeling excited, but aren’t sure how you can be a part of this awesome show, fear not — because we are also officially putting out a call for original adaptations of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. We will also accept extant adaptations, so long as the rights are available (public domain or you have written permission for the work). While writing your play, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • submissions should be between 40 and 50 minutes in duration
  • submissions should be written with gender parity in mind
  • submissions should include Foley and digital sound effects in the script

The deadline for all submissions will be midnight on July 15th; scripts may be submitted via email to info@pmrp.org. If your script is accepted, the PMRP will pay $50 for the performance rights to the work. These include the performance rights as well as the right to record the show and distribute (for sale or free) recordings of the show. The author retains ownership of the script.

If you would like a copy of the PMRP’s radio-drama template (for Microsoft Word, but somewhat useful in OpenOffice as well), or if you have other questions about the process or the requirements, please contact info@pmrp.org as well. Our Audio Drama Production Links page might also have some useful resources.
