Our performers are not paid. </p><hr /> <h2>How to Audition</h2> <h3>Now</h3> <ol> <li>First, consult the description of the audio play on <a href="/events/falcon">the show page</a>, and the audition sides and character descriptions in <a href="https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jASSZNzCfd_vbBZgwt1aFR3fFv2WpdgH?usp=sharing">our Audition Documents folder on Google Drive</a>, to get a sense of the plays and an idea of what roles you’re interested in.</li> <li>Then, <a href="https://forms.gle/ZZzULRyhrEnG15gg7"><strong>click here to sign up for an audition appointment</strong></a>, fill out the form, and submit it. <ul> <li>This form is <strong>both</strong> to sign up for an audition slot <strong>and</strong> to tell us about your skills and interests and let us know (for instance) what plays or roles you’re particularly interested in. This means that you’ll want to think not just about when you’d like to audition, but also about what specifically you’re interested in auditioning for, before (or while) you fill out the form</li> <li>Space permitting, we will still be accommodating walk-ins at audition, and there will be a way for you to fill out the audition form on-site. Audition reservations are very much encouraged, though!</li> </ul> </li> <li>If you have submitted the form correctly and one of the time slots you requested is still available, you will get email confirming your audition appointment. (This is sent by a human being who has a day job, so don't worry if it doesn't come right away. You can also use that address to contact us if you have trouble submitting the form.)</li> </ol> <h3>Before your audition</h3> <ol> <li>Print out (or download to your tablet) the audition sides from <a href="https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jASSZNzCfd_vbBZgwt1aFR3fFv2WpdgH?usp=sharing">our Google Drive Audition Docs folder</a>. You’ll want to look over and/or rehearse them before your audition, and it will be very helpful if you can bring your copy to the audition (although we’ll have a few extra copies printed out). </li> <li>Then, show up for your audition at the scheduled time! Good luck and have fun!</li> </ol> <h3>Some Things to Know</h3> <ul> <li>Rehearsals will generally be on Mondays. (The first rehearsal after readthrough will be on Tuesday, May 26, however, due to Memorial Day.) For the first few weeks, Foley and voice actors will be rehearsing at the same time, but in separate locations in the church. After the first three weeks or so, voice and Foley will rejoin and rehearse together.</li> <li>If you show up for an audition without having filled out your form, we’ll probably have a paper copy you can fill out and we can transcribe, or a QR code for the form so you can fill it out on your phone. However, it saves time and trouble and makes the process go more smoothly if you submit the form before your audition. (It also helps demonstrate to the directors how responsible and resourceful you are!)</li> <li>Similarly, if you don't have sides printed out (or on a tablet) we'll have some copies auditionees can borrow, but it's best if you can print them out or have them on a device you can comfortably read from.</li> <li><strong>Walk-ins</strong> are welcome, but <strong>people with appointments will take priority</strong>. If there are no-shows during a given hour, we will fill those slots with walk-ins. Any remaining walk-ins will be auditioned at 10pm. Thursday the 11th will be a pay-what-you-can night.)<br /> <span class="headphrase">Location:</span> <a href="#location">Boston Brunch Church (formerly Responsible Grace), 204 Elm Street, Somerville</a>.</div> <hr /> The Post-Meridian Radio Players are proud to announce our Spring show, “Filibus: The Mysterious Sky Pirate,” and “Confidence Confidant” — two adventure stories featuring daring women of disguise and intrigue! <p><span class="headphrase">Filibus: The Mysterious Sky Pirate</span> is an original adaptation by Brian Kjersten of the 1915 silent film in which a daring burgler, Filibus (actually the Baroness de Troixmonde), uses her airship, an array of secret identities including the Count de la Brive, and a great deal of daring, charm, deception, and persuasion, in an attempt not only to steal valuable jewels, but to demonstrate her superior abilities of deception and best her antagonist, the famous detective Hardy! (PMRP audiences may find a bit of an echo of Arsène Lupin in her!)</p> <p><span class="headphrase">Confidence Confidant</span>, an original script by Eva C. Schegulla, is based on a historical case of Kate Warne, the first female Pinkerton detective. Like the fictional Filibus, the historical Warne used deception, secret identities, courage, and charm to accomplish her goals; when Pinkterton told her women (in the mid-19th century) couldn’t be detectives, she persuaded him by pointing out that she could go places his male operatives couldn’t and talk to people who wouldn’t trust them.
